Measurement and assembly

Each window composition that we sew for you is finished with a crease tape appropriate to its type or another fitting solution, agreed upon at the time of placing the order.

We send the sewn and ironed curtains and drapes to you by courier.

In recent years, we have seen a great deal of progress in the subject of mounting systems for window decorations. We now have curtain rods that can be mounted to both the wall above the window and the ceiling. These can be either decorative (metal, wooden, traditional) or more modern curtain rails, and can be appropriately matched to virtually any interior style. On the other hand, mounting solutions on the so-called grommets are going out of fashion; they are used basically only at the express request of the client and are not currently promoted for elegant window decorations.

Overview of typical mounting solutions for curtains and drapes

Rack & pin curtain rods

Curtain rails with clips allow the decoration to be moved freely along the curtain rail.

The pull rods are the mounting element; in modern solutions we generally aim to hide the pull rods. To this end, the curtain or drape is sewn on a suitable tape with a frill, which conceals the curtain rail fins.

Mounting directly on the curtain rail without pull pins

Solutions in which the curtain or drape is hung directly on the curtain rail without the use of handles are also very popular.
For this purpose, a so-called "tunnel" is used or a so-called "brace tape" is sewn on.
These solutions allow us to easily position the curtain or drape on the curtain rail, without the use of the pull rods.
However, it is worth remembering that with this type of system of fixing window compositions, every time we want to remove a curtain or a drape, we have to pull the curtain rail off the supports.

Mounting on a rail/leaf with hooks or clips

Rails/rails of this type are usually only mounted to the ceiling. The rail is approx. 1 - 3 cm high, and is hardly visible from the ceiling. It can also be covered with a cover strip (blind).

It is also possible to install two parallel rails under the ceiling, one for e.g. curtains and the other for curtains (or use a double or triple rail). The window compositions are mounted on the rail using hooks or clips.

The tapes that we sew in have the possibility of using a hook in two positions, thanks to which it is possible to slightly change the height of a curtain or drapes (by approx. 1 cm).

Wave tape rail

A modern solution that we recommend is to use the Wave tape rail as an alternative to the curtain rail. This rail is used to mount the curtains/curtains with the Wave tape sewn in and the plastic "snails" pinned in.

The Wave tape allows the folds of the curtains or drapes to be elegantly and evenly arranged, whether pushed together or pulled apart. A major advantage of this solution is the quick and easy installation and removal of the decoration for washing/cleaning.

Whichever hanging system you choose, for correct installation it is still important to pay attention to:

  • Correct sizing: It is important to measure the window accurately and adjust the size of the curtains or drapes to its dimensions. This will ensure a perfect fit and an aesthetically pleasing composition in the room. In the figures below we show how to measure depending on the type of mounting system:
  • Careful sewing: Curtains and curtains should be carefully sewn, with even seams and attention to detail. Here, the experience and specialisation of the seamstresses in sewing window decorations is especially important. Our seamstresses, ladies with many years of experience in this field, are second to none.
  • Ironing: Before hanging, it is a good idea to iron the curtains or drapes so that they are smooth and look elegant. Therefore, the window compositions that come out from under our hand are ready to hang, ironed and modelled appropriately for the window.
  • Matching the style of the interior: Curtains and curtains should harmonise with the rest of the interior decoration, harmonising with the colour of the walls, the furniture and the overall style, which is why we offer you the support of our experts, but also the unique and only window decoration visualisation app on the market. Using the iDESCU app, you can see on a photo of the window what arrangement best suits our room, how the individual fabrics look, which patterns best harmonise with our interior.
